    For sale is an
    ANTIQUE NATIONAL TIME RECORDER CO. TIME CLOCK British Railways Midland Region. I posted this in a British Railway. Facebook group asking for help with decoding the information on the clocks ID badge.   One of the group members used a clock just like this and told me the (M) indicated the Midland Region of the British Railway system.  Here is a quote from that member "
    "It’s a clocking in/clocking out machine that punched the date and time on an employee’s attendance card. The correct card is sitting in the machine. I don't remember seeing these in engine sheds, but they would most certainly have been used in the main works at Crewe, Derby, Horwich and Wolverton on the BR Midland Region. The B.R. (M) stands for British Railways Midland Region. So limits the number of places at which it could have been installed - I have listed the major possibilities. The R.C.B. 2 - 108 is probably a clue but does not help me place it."
    The clock is complete and the stamping feature is
    operational but the ink is dry on the ribbon. It operated like a traditional
    grandfather clock and has a
    swinging that is adjusted with a set knob to calibrate for accuracy.  The inside was dusty and I cleaned that out. When you start the
    pendulum all the functions appear to operate for about 2 minutes until the gears stop moving. I contacted a restoration expert named
    Kevin Keinert.
    I located his information on a
    YouTube
    video where he documents a complete restoration of one of these recorders. We
    discussed
    this clock and he said a good cleaning and oiling of the clock
    mechanism
    should make it full operational and that any clock repair person can handle. The cabinet has some chips as seen in the pictures and the case and metal front features have some white paint
    speckles
    from being its life in the wild. The original key is included.  Please zoom in on pictures and see condition. I assume you will also want to examine it in person. I wont ship. This weighs in at about 70 pounds and the clock workings would be destroyed by modern day lazy and
    aggressive
    USPS, UPS and Fedex workers who like to throw stuff being shipped in my opinion.
